DSVR supports Alliance Theatre’s Production of Ugly Lies The Bone
Ugly Lies the Bone is a play by Lindsey Ferrentino that tells the story of Jesse, who returns from her third tour of duty in Afghanistan injured and badly burned. The story is inspired by the real experiences of veterans pain relief application, SnowWorld (created by Ari Hollander and Howard Rose of DSVR) and shows how Jesse uses VR to overcome the pain of her injuries and PTSD.
Following on the success of the play’s Off-Broadway premiere , Alliance will be staging Ugly Lies the Bone from Sept. 16 to Oct. 19 in Atlanta. Alliance is the largest independent theater company in the South, and dedicated to raising awareness through the play about the challenges war veterans face recovering from the physical and psychological trauma of war.
DeepStream VR will provide our VR pain relief applications and two virtual reality systems in the theater lobby for theater patrons to experience VR. DeepStream is also working closely with Director Jessica Holt to familiarize the cast and creative team about VR as a revolutionary new form of therapy.
DeepStream VR is joining with our partner companies, NVIDIA, HTC, and AVA Direct, to provide the VR systems and software for Alliance. Our companies are united in a common interest to advance beneficial applications of VR for health.
In the spirit of this collaboration, we have committed to donate six professional to bring VR to hospitals that help veterans and children.
